The Land and Sand Fun Run was created to bring awareness and understanding about the need for conservation of marine mammals through rescue and rehabilitation, research and education.
We want to create a fun family event welcoming everybody from a child to a seasoned runner,
with fun activities for the entire family to enjoy, whether you run or just come out and play on the beach with us.
Our event is the ONLY race that travels over the sand and on through the streets of Beachtown offering the participant a seaside jaunt followed by a scenic tour through the
beautiful wetlands of Beachtown, as a quick tour of the
East end of Seawall Blvd in the 10K.
100% of the proceeds from this race will go directly to the

What Is The Texas Marine Mammal Stranding Network?
Texas Marine Mammal Stranding Network is a non-profit, volunteer based organization that is supported by donations from the public and grants.
The TMMSN is the only stranding network in the state of Texas authorized to rescue and rehabilitate
dolphins or whales.
Each year the Texas Coast sees an average of 150 stranded dolphins
and whales. The goals of the TMMSN are to immediately respond to live animals, stabilize them on the beach, and transport them to the rehabilitation center. TMMSN also responds to deceased animals to gather important data to determine the cause of stranding.

Start your weekend out with a fun run supporting the Texas Marine Mammal Stranding Network, Learn about Dolphin Rescues and then head to Moody Gardens Saturday night for the festival of lights and a Half Marathon run through Moody Gardens Sunday Morning.
